I'm Mary! (A.K.A. Boho Girl)

Hey y'all! (And yes, that's probably how I will greet you when I see you! I was born and raised in central Florida. I'm a single mama to - Noah - who I love more than anything! He certainly keeps me on my toes and keeps life interesting - let me tell you! I consider myself a simple person and LOVE coffee, (probably a little too much). I am silly and love to laugh and at times that can be a bit awkward - but that's what makes everything so fun.

I started photographing my family in 2010 with a small digital camera I purchased from Walmart for under $100. I became hooked and realized I wanted to do so much more than "take pictures." I decided to attend school and became a Florida Southern College graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and a main focus in photography in 2014. While there, I studied artist Sally Mann and fell in love with her documentary style of photography.

I immediately discovered that photography does not have to be a perfect smiling moment. It's about the moments we sometimes tend to overlook with our busy lives constantly thrusting us forward - work, laundry to fold, kids to feed and just doing the dailies that are a must. Trust me - I know! While I may ask for some still poses, I also love walking clients through poses that will lead to a candid moment and simply catching things with my camera while you are just being YOU! I realize it can feel bizarre being photographed by a stranger, but I love meeting new people and getting to know them. And more than likely, I will trip, fall or say something to help get those laughs out! I believe it's most important to be on the same level and communicate when planning a session. I am very open to messaging, texting, calling, video chatting or meeting in person. If I'm going to tell your story, I need to tell it right! I can guarantee something will click.

As a mother, I personally want to remember the way my son's soft silky red curls fall just to his eyebrow. Or how he reacted the first time he tasted cake. I want to remember how much he LOVES playing with the garden hose (even if I get soaked in the process)!

Although I love those personal candid moments, I absolutely LOVE setting up themed sessions for children and families. This includes many holidays such as Easter and Christmas; along with tributes to summer using vintage Coca-Colas or a lemonade stand and much more!
